MEDITATION

Meditation has a massive impact on our life in a positive sense. According to Buddhism, everything is impermanent. We can control nothing. However, it is possible to take responsibility for our own states of mind. And this is the most important thing we can do. Buddhism teaches that it is the only real antidote to our own personal sorrows, and to the anxieties, fears, hatreds, and general confusions that beset the human condition.

What Is Meditation?

Meditation is not a passive escape from silence, but the development of a way to see the world and mind clearly and truthfully, so as to gain wisdom and compassion beyond confusion and suffering and bring it into all aspects of life.

Meditation is a means of transforming the mind. Buddhist meditation practices are techniques that encourage and develop concentration, clarity, emotional positivity, and a calm seeing of the true nature of things.

By engaging with a particular meditation practice we learn the patterns and habits of our mind, and the practice offers a means to cultivate new, more positive ways of being.

With regular practice and patience these nourishing, focused states of mind can deepen into profoundly peaceful and energized states of mind.
